Sender Policy Framework, or SPF, is a validation system, that is intended to stop the so-called email spoofing where an email message is sent from one email, but to look as being sent from another, ordinarily with the objective to scam the recipient in some way. If SPF protection is activated for a domain, a unique record is created for it in the Domain Name System and all of the DNS servers worldwide have it. The record contains all of the email servers that are allowed to send valid messages from an address under the domain. When a message is sent, the very first DNS server it encounters verifies the SPF record and when its sending server is permitted, the message is forwarded to the targeted destination. In case, however, the sending server is not contained in the SPF record for the given domain, the email message will not be sent and it'll be removed. In case you employ this service, it'll prevent third parties from sending spam emails which seem to have been sent by you.

SPF Protection in Hosting

If you host your domains in a hosting account with us and we handle the e-mail addresses for them, you will be able to activate SPF protection for all of them with a couple of clicks in your Hepsia Control Panel. The service is available in its own section where you are able to view which domain names are currently secured. For the ones which aren't, you will be able to enable the SPF protection service and manage a variety of things in the process - the hostnames of the mail servers that are allowed to send messages from your emails, the IPv4 and IPv6 addresses of the servers, and to create a rule that email messages can be sent only if your domain names use our MX records. The aforementioned choice is the most secure one, and it can be used in the event that we take care of the emails for your domain names and do not use another email supplier. The new records will be activated within a day and nobody will be able to forge the FROM field in an email by using your e-mail addresses.

SPF Protection in Semi-dedicated Hosting

The SPF protection function is available with all of the semi-dedicated services, so if you host your domain names in an account on our cloud website hosting platform, you'll be able to use this particular service without difficulty for all your domains. The Hepsia Control Panel, which is provided with the semi-dedicated accounts, has a very intuitive interface, therefore you do not need to be proficient in the use of computers to protected your email addresses. You'll only need to type the hostname and the IP address of each mail server that you'd like to be certified to send emails from your addresses and right after that the new record will be active for the domain name that you have selected. As an extra option, we will also allow you to limit the outgoing emails and secure your mailboxes even further by allowing e-mail messages to be sent only when the domain name in question contains our MX records i.e. the e-mail messages for the domain name should be managed here and not by a different supplier. In this way you will get even better control and there won't be a chance for any person to forge your email addresses for malicious uses.
